Hello to all Healthy Living Lovers and a very warm welcome to my new blog on how to cure Autoimmune Diseases Naturally!
My name is Graham and originally from Bournemouth in the South of England, but now living in Southern Spain in the very beautiful Alpujarra in a cortijo (farmhouse) with my lovely wife Rasa who was born in Lithuania.
DISCOVER how to enjoy a healthy life again (or even for the first time), lose weight, rid yourself of PsA, Diabetes, Lupus and most of the other evil autoimmune diseases.
The choice is yours!
I think as we get older we become more concerned about our health and seek ways to stay/become more healthy in our old age.
Over the last few years I found that I was beginning to get more aches and pains, joint stiffness, joint pain, brain fog etc. Mind you I was totally rebuilding this old finca from 2009 for years so it was to be a little expected for a man of my years.. 🙂
Then immediately after receiving the Flu vaccine in 2014, I had an excruciating shoulder pain around the jab site. Well that’s how my Psoriatic Arthritis started although I thought to start with that it was Arthritis!
I then received local injections of and was started on a course of Prednisone I have recently been diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis which is very similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis, I’m sure most people are aware, an autoimmune disease and said to be incurable. But I have just come across this awesome book
“How Not to DIE!” penned by Michael Greger MD. which explains exactly how, with a plant based diet, you are able to cure yourself of most autoimmune problems.
I might add that all proceeds of Michael’s books go to charity and his website nutritionfacts.org is totally charity driven. Michael has made thousands of video on just about every health subject.
ABOUT MICHAEL GREGER, M.D. FACLM
So this is my basis and the reason for writing this blog.
We have started the plant based diet in the hope that I clear my rheumatoid arthritis from my body and will be able to live a healthy and fit life ‘til the end of my days and being able to do all the things I still want to do in life. Pain becomes very debilitating.
When we are younger, I don’t think many value life so much or even think about it and it is not until we become older that we really start to value that which we have or that which we don’t have anymore…. Rasa and I have decided that if we are going to live for many more years, WE WANT TO BE HEALTHY AND FIT.

Over the last few years
I have been doing much research on supplements and their uses and the way in which they interact with our bodies. Our biggest problem is that we are so used to eating the wrong foods and which cause us to have a very bad microbiome in our GUT, which you may or may not know is known as our second brain, and I am beginning to believe it is probably even our first brain. It totally controls our body AND our brain.
Everyday new studies emerge about the role gut microbiome – sometimes simply called biome or flora – plays in our health. The human gut microbiome and its role in both health and disease has been the subject of extensive research, establishing its involvement in human metabolism, nutrition, physiology, and immune function. Imbalance of the normal gut microbiota have been linked with gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and wider systemic manifestations of disease such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and many other autoimmune diseases.
I am a firm believer that there are plants in nature to cure virtually all our common ills. This has spurred me on to find a natural cure for these horrendous autoimmune diseases.
I am sure that you have heard many times that
“We are what we eat” “Food is Medicine”
Nothing could be more true as you will understand if you read this International Best Seller, “How not to Die” book which is available here How Not to Die
Another fantastic book, The Pegan Diet, I have recently been following and this book explains how “Food is Medicine” and this book really puts things in perspective….
So, start your journey back to a full and healthy life by kicking out the drugs from your medicine cupboard, I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed!
I wish you good luck and GOOD Health.
and if you would like Michael’s Cookbook… it makes life soooo much easier and healthier… 🙂

Just remember when you buy do your food shopping…we are not only what we eat but also we are whatever our meat giving animals eat. Very important!
Think about it!
And so, with this in mind… our second brain, our gut, needs looking after very carefully and requires all the bad bacteria, which most of us have, to be cleared out to start afresh. SO important.
A little tip:– Do not Ever clean your mouth with mouth wash before you go to bed…
NO.
Our mouths are filled with GOOD bacteria which our gut needs and relies upon to regenerate our gut bacteria!
The same regimen as above has also been known to clear cancer from very many people…….absolutely amazing.
The biggest challenge we face is then knowing with what to replace meat?
Hence the need for Michael’s cook book above.
Rheumatoid or Psoriatic Arthritis
When I was first diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, this was 2 years after the flu jab!
I was prescribed a plethora of drugs to use which scared the hell out of me, some of which were chemotherapy drugs!!
NO, I thought, not ready for that yet!
The problem is that once we start taking these drugs we then have to take other drugs to counteract the bad effects of the first and so the cycle goes on eventually destroying our bodies, not healing them.
DRUGS are not the answer!
I took Prednisone for a few months to deal with my pain.
A VERY BAD MISTAKE.
The withdrawal symptoms for this drug are horrendous and the pain list endless too. If you can avoid this drug, Please do at all costs. You can read here the comments made by hundreds of EX Prednisone users. https://comments.medicinenet.com/steroid_withdrawal/patient-comments-1479.htm
Autoimmune diseases:

I will also be taking a serious look at this book “Hands off my food” by Dr. Sina McCullough
Heal Yourself & Harness Your Power
AND, my Psoriatic Arthritis? Now gone…..
except for a little Psoriasis on my face which I am working on.
The Mayo Clinic will tell you:-
I spent a year or two trying many different formulations of Curcuma and Turmeric and contrary to their manufacturer’s pledges, THEY SIMPLY DID NOT WORK!
So after more than 12 months on a plant based diet things started to get better.. and now I am really happy to say “I AM PAIN FREE!” So much for drugs!
They may keep you alive, just, but they very seldom will CURE YOU!
Looking back I firmly believe that a flu jab here in Spain caused ALL my health problems for some years…
SO NEVER AGAIN A VACCINATION for me… my immune system can sort out any future problems..:-)
Get and keep healthy,
Best wishes and Love from Graham and Rasa

Psoriatic arthritis PsA
Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that combines symptoms of arthritis (joint inflammation) with psoriasis (a skin condition). It primarily affects people who already have psoriasis, but in some cases, joint symptoms may appear before skin issues.
Key Features of PsA:
- Joint Pain and Swelling – PsA causes inflammation in the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and swelling, often in the fingers, toes, knees, and lower back.
- Skin and Nail Changes – Many PsA patients have psoriasis, which causes scaly, red patches on the skin. Nail pitting, ridges, or separation from the nail bed are also common.
- Enthesitis – Inflammation where tendons and ligaments attach to bones, commonly in the heels (Achilles tendon) or bottom of the feet.
- Dactylitis – Severe swelling of entire fingers or toes, making them look “sausage-like.”
- Spinal Involvement – Some people develop spondylitis, leading to stiffness and pain in the back or neck.
- Fatigue – Chronic inflammation can cause exhaustion and a general feeling of being unwell.
Causes and Risk Factors:
- Autoimmune response – The immune system mistakenly attacks healthy joints and skin.
- Genetics – Family history increases the risk.
- Environmental Triggers – Infections, stress, or injury may trigger PsA in those predisposed.
Diagnosis:
There is no single test for PsA, so doctors use:
- Physical exams (checking joints, skin, and nails)
- Blood tests (to rule out other forms of arthritis)
- Imaging tests (X-rays, MRI) to detect joint damage
